青岛大学是教育部2003年首批批准开展“国际商务”四年制本科专业（代码110211W）教育的全国六所高校（山东大学、西南财经大学、上海对外贸易学院、青岛大学、广东外语外贸大学、云南大学）之一。经过十多年建设，国际商务专业教育取得了快速发展，积累了丰富的国际商务专业教育经验和人才培养经验。

 国际商务系拥有一支年轻而充满活力，教学经验和科研成果丰富，教学效果良好的师资队伍，现有专职教师15人，教师拥有在英国、韩国、丹麦、澳大利亚等国外著名大学学习和访问研究经历，其中10人获得博士学位。国际商务系正在筹备开设面向国外学生的国际商务本科专业全英语教育项目，同时还设有国际商务专业硕士（MIB）学位点。

 国际商务系立足学科建设和满足国家经济社会发展需要，紧密围绕“厚基础、宽领域、重应用、高技能”的培养目标，重视发挥双语和外教全英文授课优势，旨在培养德、智、体全面发展，具有国际视野和人文素养、具有管理知识和沟通技能，具有善于利用管理技术分析和解决问题能力的复合型经理人才。

 2011年至今，毕业生总体就业率始终保持在95%以上，其中15%的学生考取国内外著名大学的研究生，就业领域涵盖政府、事业单位以及金融系统的涉外部门和内外资企业，主要从事国际贸易、国际物流、国际金融、市场营销等方面的研究、管理和咨询工作，受到用人单位的广泛好评，赢得了良好的社会声誉。

Qingdao University is one of the six universities (Shandong University, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade, Qingdao University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, and Yunnan University) which are approved to carry out four-year undergraduate program with major in International Business (Code 110211W) by Ministry of Education in 2003. Though more than twenty years of construction, the International Business major education has developed rapidly and accumulated rich experience in international business education and talents cultivation.

International Business Department has a young and full of energy team of teaching staff with good teaching experience and scientific research achievement. There are 15 full-time teachers who have experience of studying and visiting prestigious universities in foreign countries such as Britain, South Korea, Denmark and Australia, and ten of them have obtained the doctor degree .

International Business department is based on meeting the needs of national economic and social development, focuses on the cultivation objective that is “thicken foundation, widen field, more application and higher skill”, exploits the advantage of bilingual teaching of native teachers and full English teaching of foreign teachers. The department aims to cultivate the compound, international-oriented and application-oriented talents with moral, intellectual, physical all-round development, possessing international vision and the humanity accomplishment, equipped with management knowledge and communication skills, good at analysis and problem solving by using management technology.

Since 2011 up till now,  the overall employment rate of graduated students remained above 95 percent and 15 percent students enrolled in graduate programs at home and abroad. The employment area covers government, public institution and foreign-related sectors of financial system and the foreign and domestic–funded enterprises. The graduates mainly engaged in the research, management and consulting work of international trade, international logistics, international finance, marketing and other aspects, and were widely praised by the employers and won a good social reputation.
